Friday, 15 April 2011 19:43Hundreds of songs get left behind - which were the best in 2011?
In this edition of 3 Points On The Turkey, we look at some of the best songs that got left behind and never made it to Dusseldorf. Imagine the weeks of preparation with make-up, choreography, rehearsals, press, hope and prayer that hundreds of singers and musicians put themselves through, only to find their sour face on the cover of a tabloid - a split-second look when they realised they wouldn't go through. C'est la vie, as someone once said. Here are some of the best and brightest of this year's crop - please feel free to add to the list in the comments section below.

Ooh Aah | Steps say no
Wednesday, 12 October 2011 19:41News Round-up of the day. Another one of those no news days, well some news from Iceland and the UK then at least.
150 songs have been submitted to RÚV, the Icelandic broadcaster, which is comparable to last year's number. The Icelandic national final will be held in February and hosted by Ragnhildur Steinunn Jónsdóttir. Iceland could have done well in the 2010 Song Contest, had they selected Yohanna. Yohanna's entry Nótt won the so called second chance contest earlier this week, where non qualifying songs from the national finals get a second chance.
