Swiss final on 10 December

This week the Swiss broadcasters presented their plans for the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest. A total of 14 artists will take place in the Swiss final on 10 december. Six of them will be selected through an internet procedure. Three will be internally selected by radio station DRS3, three by French speaking broadcaster RTS amd two by Italian speaking RSI.

John de Mol is a Dutch media tycoon that is behind several successfull international television productions. Reality soap Big Brother being the biggest one of them, for sure. John already had one link to the Eurovision Song Contest, being the ex husband of Willeke Alberti, who represented the Netherlands in 1994. Now there will be a second link.

According to Armenian press, the Armenian participation to next year's song contest is still under discussion. Armenia and Azerbaijan are not known to be best of friends, to state it mildly.
Finland announced dates
Friday, 26 August 2011 10:08The final of Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu will take place on 25 February.
Paradise Oskar's runner up will be selected through a new selection procedure this year. After five semi finals the Fins will select their representative for the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest in Baku. Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu replaces Euroviisut, their previous Eurovision selection format. Euroviisut has once been very successful, in 2006, when it delivered the Eurovision winner for that year: Lordi. Apart from 2010 Finland managed to reach the final ever since. The semifinals will be held from 27 January till 24 February. More details will be available here once they are known.

In Today's Algemeen Dagblad, one of the biggest newspapers in the Netherlands, Knightrider David Hasselhoff has stated he wants to take part in the Nationaal Songfestival, the Dutch selection procedure to the Euroviosion Song Contest. He wants to do this in a duet with a Dutch singer.

Saturday, 03 September 2011 10:04Well, yesterday was the last day to submit songs to the Norwegian ESC selection. So if you had intended to participate but have not sent in a song yet, you're too late.
In an interview with NRK, the Norwegian broadcaster, Per Sundnes stated songs have been submitted from all over the world, including Serbia, Spain, Sweden and Portugal. In the beginning of this week the number of submitted songs had already reached the level of 700. He himself was hoping for some songs in Sami among the submitted ones. Sami is a group of languages sproken in Northern Scandinavia, Finland and Russia.
John de Mol about NSF
Monday, 05 September 2011 20:53Cornald Maas reunited with the Nationaal Songfestival. John de Mol is analyzing the recent history of the ESC to get the Netherlands back on track.
While songs for the 2012 Nationaal Songfestival can still be submitted until 30 September, John de Mol started preparing the show. John de Mol is a famous Dutch producer that among other has the Big Brother format on his curriculum.

On the website of one of the two t.A.T.u. girls it is declared that the two Russian girls split up. Yulia en Lena are now working on their solo carreers. In the clip of Lena's first solo single however, Yulia is also featured.

EMA, the Slovenian national final is expected to be held in January. this year the name remained the same but the system changed completely. Preselections have been held in 5 cities for what is called Misija Evrovizija. In the weeks to come auditions will determine which singers will make it to the knock out rounds that are going to be televised later on.
