For the first time OGAE Netherlands is organising a big Eurovision party. The party will take place in Rotterdam and will be the kick off of the 2012 Eurovision season for the Dutch (and international) Eurovision fans. Nuša Derenda is the first confirmed guest, but more names will follow. Following the performances 12points' dj Louis will keep everyone dancing on Eurovision tunes until the early hours. Rotterdam is the town to be next month, with a 12points Party and the Dutch OGAE Party in one weekend. On 8 October the Dutch Eurovision fanclub OGAE has its annual party there, with Nuša Derenda, Lucia Perez and Justine Pelmelay. The day before that we kick off the Eurovision weekend with a new Eurovision night in town: the very first 12points party in Rotterdam. Come celebrate the start of our new website with us on 7 October in café Keerweer. 100% Eurovision music will be guaranteed, and the second best thing: the entrance is free!

The more Eurovision contests, the better. From next year on, every country has to organise a national final to select its entry to the Eurovision Song Contest. But that still is not enough for the die hard Eurovision fans. They want more, more more... Since 1987 OGAE, the international Eurovision fan club has been organising the so called Second Chance contest.

The Guardian reports today about some band name reports, among them Bucks Fizz and the Sugababes. One of the girls in Sugababes is Jade Ewen, who managed to sing the UK back into the top 10, in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. But that Sugababes is not supposed to be called Sugababes anymore....

The Netherlands have a record of getting the worst results in Eurovision over the last decade. Meanwhile it is also home to one of th best Eurovision sites around.... WARNING: It is in Dutch!

Tuesday, 01 November 2011 17:37News Round-up of the day. In the annual so called Homo Top 100 in Flanders, Dana International climbed up to the first place.
Last year Diva didn't mange to come higher than a 4th position, this year it beat Bart Kaëll (Belgian national final 1983/1987) that got the top spot last year. Other eurovision entries in the top 100 include Soldiers of Love (Belgium 1987) on # 8, Je t'adore (Belgium 2006) on # 27, Liefde is een kaartspel (Belgium 1996) on # 65, Gelukkig zijn (Belgium 1975) on # 73, Je ne sais quoi (Iceland 2010) on #82 and Ooh Aah Just a little bit (UK 1996) on #85. Would there be a link between Eurovision and being gay, we wonder?

Thursday, 10 November 2011 15:44News Round-up of the day. The Norwegians have presented one more candaidate in MGP 2012: Kim André Rysstad.
Rysstad, a folk musician and big Withney Houston fan is ready for his biggest asignment ever: Melodi Grand Prix. A total of eight artists have been revealed so far for the Norwegian Eurovision selection.

OGAE, the biggest international Eurovision fan club, with branches in almost all countries taking part in the contest asks its members each year to speak out, what they think about that year's entries. Resulting in a Eurovision style voting, with a 12, a 10, an 8, etc. being awarded to the songs by each and every country. The results right now, after 27 countries' voting, is showing a clear victory for Sweden. Loreen's Euphoria got no leaa than 295 points so far, with number two, Italy far behind with 162 points. See the current top 10 below. A number of countries still has to vote, but wether that can change results is to be doubted.
