One American's First ESC

Who am I? I'm an American guy from Washington, DC, in his 50's. To pay the bills, I'm a government bureaucrat who works for an agency that is promoting the development of solar, wind, and geothermal energy in America. But on my own time, I am a classical violist, a theater judge, and an opera fan. I studied linguistics and Germanic languages at Princeton University, and languages have always been one of my favorite hobbies.
When the domestic partnership I'd been in for 20 years exploded into a million pieces a couple of years ago, I realized I was also a guy who had the opportunity for a fresh start in a new life. For me, the Eurovision experience is becoming one of the many pieces of that new life.

Germany has selected - Cascada will represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest. The Germans proved tonight that they know what a national final should be - good songs - good performances - a great host, who even is funny without autocue - and exciting voting.
