In 2003 Charlotte Nilsson (Sweden 1999, 2008) got married with Nicola Perrelli, and then adapted her new husband's family name too. Since then we know her as Charlotte Perrelli. The love birds have longe ago got divorced, and now it's about time for Charlotte to give back his last name, Nicola thinks, especially since there is another man in Charlotte's life right now. Charlotte insists it's her artist name however and doesn't seem to be willing to give in. Now that Carola (Sweden 1983, 1991, 2006) has been in the news quite a lot recently with the story about her wish to adopt a baby, this might just be Charlotte's answer to get back in the news too... who knows?

Senhora do Mar, our favourite Eurovision song in 2008, was written by the Balkan counterpart of Ralph Siegel, Andrej Babic. This year he is back in Portugal, as one of the composers in Festival da Canção on 10 February. The entire list of composers and artists is as follows:

News Round-up of the day. Some more details have been announced - no internet selection this year.
Last week RTP announced that the Portuguese final is going to take place on 10 March, today some more information about the national selection in Poland was added. Unlike in recent years there will not be an internet selection. Artists with a record deal on their CV are invited to attend one of the castings organised. The Portugese hope to get a total of 12 acts for their final this way. After the selection of the artists the songs will be selected. All songs will have to be sung in Portuguese.

News Round-up of the day. Sarah Dawn Finer MF host, One more artist revealed in Norway and, yes, some Jedward news.
Melodifestivalen, Sweden's Eurovision show will be hosted by three ladies this year. Sarah Dawn Finer needs no introduction to MF fans, as she participated in the contest herself in 2007 and 2009. She will be joined by actress Helena Bergström and popular blogger Gina Dirawi. On SVT's Melodifestivalen pages Sarah Dawn says it was really hard to keep it a secret that she was asked for Sweden's biggest hosing job. She never intended to take part this year, but was forced to say 'no' to a number of artists that wanted her to write an MF song for them.

News Round-up of the day. Rumours, don't we just lost them, according to a Norwegian fansite, Eurovision winner Alexander Rybak might return next year.
Returning as a lyricist that is, writing a song for Maria Haukaas Storeng (Norway 2008). Rumours say the two of them will be invited as wildcars in Melodi Grand Prix, the Norwegian edition....

News Round-up of the day. Summertime and the living is easy...
We are far away from last year's contest and 2012 is still out of sight. the only thing we could report today is that rumors say Måns Zelmerlöw is intending to submit a song to the 2012 edition of Melodifestivalen, the Swedish Eueovision selection. He did so successfully twice before with Cara Mia (2007) and Hope and Glory (2009).In 2010 he was one of the hosts in Melodifestivalen. Nothing has been confirmed yet however.
