OA | Put the green cape on
Friday, 04 May 2012 17:36++ Jedward's new single ++ Anggun get's bored a lot ++ Armenia fined ++ Fins and fashion ++ Zeljko in Spanish ++..
It's all about Euro 2012. Not only we have Eurovision coming up, there seems to be something going on with soccer as well. This did get noted by the Jedwards too. You might recognise the music to their single Put the green cape on, that was released today. "Here we come, here we come, we've got Europe on the run."
OA | For all the collectors out there
Wednesday, 11 April 2012 16:15++ Italian fans partying with Nina ++ Seventeen for Iris, with Sabina ++ Douze Points: Latvia ++..
For years Dutch Jan Götz has been doing all Eurovision fans and collectors a giant favor allready by sharing all details about all versions of all Eurovision songs released every year. In the good old days it was the paper version of his collectors guide that lead the way. Nowadays he's publishing the most accurate details about all releases available on the net in his annual collector's guide. In the Baku version you'll find out how many official remixes have been made for Loreen's song for Sweden. You'll also discover that the Lithuanian song also has a Lithuanian and a Russian version and you'll know exactly how Tooji's song for Norway has been performing in the local charts. We strongly recommend the Baku Collection!
Favourites and least favourites
Monday, 26 March 2012 22:56Now that all the songs are announced, it's time for the 12points staff to discuss their best and worst entries for ESC 2012.
Here at 12points.tv headquarters, we spend most of our spare hours this time of year thinking and dissecting all things Eurovision. Now that all the songs have been announced for Baku, each of our founders has written a little something about their favorites (and least favourites) for this year. We know you won't agree with some of our choices but that's OK, the joy of Eurovision should allow for some lively debate about the merits or each entry.
OA | San Marino breaks the rules
Sunday, 18 March 2012 20:02++ Only the UK and then we've got them all ++ the Macedonians presented their official video ++ ..
The reference group of the Eurovision Song Contest has decided that the song selected by San Marino, Facebook, Uh, Oh, Oh is in breach of rule 1.2.2g of the contest. This rule among others states that the lyrics may not contain commercial names. Due to this rule Sweden had to change the lyrics of its selected song in 1987. That song by Lotta enberg was originally called Fyra bugg och en Coca Cola, and was later on changed to Boogaloo. San Marino has the time untill 22 March to change the lyrics or completely select a different song. Would anyone disagree if we advies them to do the latter?
Only one more to go
Sunday, 18 March 2012 00:46OA | Honoring Facebook???
Saturday, 17 March 2012 11:44++ Sammarinese song presented ++ Belgium selects tonight ++ Five more acts for Amsterdam ++ Eurovision in the charts ++ ..
Didn't we hear Valentina Monetta was a respectable jazz singer? We really wonder how much Ralph Siegel paid her to sing the song she is going to sing for San Marino. There is eurodance and there is eurotrash, we let you comment which category this song belongs to, but this surely is not one of Ralph Siegels best songs in the contest. Facebook is the title of the song, you can listen to it below. Poor Valentina!
OA | Jedward to Amsterdam!
Tuesday, 13 March 2012 20:14++ Two more countries revealed this week ++ Different song selected for Italy ++ news from Belgium, Sweden, Greece and San Marino ++ ..
The fourth edition of Eurovision In Concert is going to be bigger than ever. Fourteen of this year's Eurovision acts have already been revealed. The latest one in that line is the addition of Jedward. The Irish twins were a big hit in Düsseldorf and will most likely be that in Baku again. Half of the teenager girl population went mad when the news was brought out yesterday evening. So join some screaming girls and loads of Eurovision fans on 21 April in Amsterdam. This week at least two more acts are going to be revealed! All news about the biggest Eurovision preview concert, you can find here.
OA | MF finalist withdrawing?
Thursday, 01 March 2012 09:02++ Björn Ranelid withdrawing from Melodifestivalen? ++ Belgium's Iris' song will be selected on 17 March ++ Two more songs selected ++ ..
Quite unexpected Björn Ranelid's was announced as one of the participants in Melodifestivalen this year. 62 year old Ranelid is a respected writer and has not had a singing carreer at all. In Leksand he managed to touch the audience however, because he managed to get a ticket to the final in Globen in Stockholm. This apparently wasn't to everyone's liking. Melodifestivalen is big in Sweden, so that means many people constantly talk about as well, and quite often have strong opinions. That was the part of the whole story Björn Ranelid apparently hadn't counted on, because he told Swedish press that he was hurt by it and that he is very doubtful wether he will be continuing the ride. Withdrawing seems to be the better option he stated in Ystad Allehanda. Swedish broadcaster SVT would have a serious problem if this were to happen and an enormous wave of support is coming Ranelid's way now, hoping that he will in fact reconsider his withdrawal.
OA | Here we go again...
Friday, 24 February 2012 17:36++ Belarus changes act! ++ Armenian artists want to withdraw ++ Malmö calling ++ Wurst and Lipstick ++..
Belarus is not going to be representeer by the winner of the national final Eurofest, Alena Lanskaya, but by runners-up Litesound. Lanskaya is being punished for the fraude that apparently took place during the voeting, wether she was aware of it or not. Litesound took part in the Belarussian national final with We Are The Heroes and are most likely going to take that track to Baku as well. You can listen and watch here.
