Estonia is one of the countries confirmed for the 2015 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, in February the 7th edition of Eesti Laul, the Estonian national selection procedure has been scheduled.
Song writers and composers have been asked to submit songs. This is possible until 1 December. From the submitted songs, 20 ones will be selected to perform in wo semi finals on 7 and 14 February next year. On 21 February a super dinal with three candidates has been planned. Televoting alone will decide who of these three will be sent to Vienna in May to represent the Baltic country.
Estonia debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994. Since then they only missed the 1995 contest. Already in 1993 a song was submitted to take part: Muretut meelt ja südametuld by Janika Sillamaa. In that year however an internal jury determined which countries could enter, Estonia failed.
So far, Estonia won the Eurovision once, in 2001. With seven more top ten positions the country can be called one of the most successful ones. On the other hand since 2004 seven times the Estonian song didn't qualify for the final, including last year's song Amazing by Tanja.
We are hoping Winny Puh (Eesti Laul 2012) will give it one more go this year. Their entry was controversal maybe, but their song Meiecundimees üks Korsakov läks eile Lätti got loads of attention abroad and even featured in one of the Paris fashion shows.
